The first item for Sindy’s kitchen - a sink unit - is released. The sink unit was blue and yellow with a stainless steel coloured sink and could really hold water which came from the working tap.

1970
|
A cooker to match the sink was released. The battery powered cooker also had a combined food mixer. The cooker again in blue and yellow had an oven with see through door, 4 rings and a grill.

1976
|
|
A whole new range of kitchen furniture was introduced. They included - wall oven, hob unit, sink, floor cupboard and wall cupboard, all in bright yellow and white with contrasting turquoise accessories. The sink unit no longer had a working tap, but could really drain into a container held in the cupboard beneath it. The hob unit had 4 rings but was no longer battery powered. The wall oven had cupboards below and above it with the oven in the centre. The floor cupboard had drawers at one side and a cupboard at the other, The wall cupboard had a working light and space to store all the kitchen accessories.

1980
|
There were more changes to Sindy’s kitchen this year. The floor cupboard was no longer available, but had been replaced by a washing machine which really worked and enabled children to wash Sindy’s clothes, the water drained away into a container at the bottom and it came complete with a laundry basket too.

Another new innovative item for 1980 was the Magic Cooker which featured light and sounds. Each item placed on the hob made an appropriate noise, there was a hissing pressure cooker, a whistling kettle, a crackling frying pan and a bubbling vegetable pan. The rotisserie had a light and the oven had a light and timer.

1982
|
The yellow kitchen furniture continued to be sold, but were joined by the Action Kitchen Unit. This unit came in bright yellow, white and brown and was battery operated. A chrome tap filled into the yellow sink, the cooker lit up and a food mixer operated.

1983
|
Sindy’s bright yellow kitchen and Action Kitchen were replaced. In their place were 2 new units in dark brown and white. The washing machine unit featured a working sink and washing machine along with work surfaces, drawers, floor and wall cupboards. The cooker unit featured an oven, hob and extractor fan which all lit up and came complete with cooking accessories in green.

1984
|
A matching fridge was introduced. The tall fridge was again in brown and white and had a freezer unit at the bottom, a cupboard above and the fridge in the centre. The fridge came complete with lots of realistically modelled food and had a light which turned on whenever the door was opened.

1986
|
Sindy’s kitchen was changed to an an unrealistic pink and blue colour. The battery operated lights on the cooker unit and fridge were missing. The cooker unit now also featured a dishwasher.

1987
|
The 2 units were no longer available and were replaced by just a cooker and the original fridge. The cooker in pink and blue, had an eye level grill with rotating spit, hob with 4 rings and an oven.

1988
|
Sindy’s Kitchen Cafe was introduced. On one side was a cafe with serving hatch and drop leaf counter and on the other side was a kitchen with a dishwasher, hob, microwave and fridge. Accessories included with the new playset were a pop-up toaster, jog kettle, wall telephone and TV.
