This banner was made for the July 2004 reunion to be held in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada, by a group of the Circle members in Mar del Plata, Argentina, February 2004. We used 2.20 by 1.50 meters of fabric,a variety of paint brushes and five colours of fabric paint, black, white, red, blue and yellow, which by mixing, gave us all the tones we needed. We planned it on paper, cut letter sizes out of newsprint to see how it would look, changed the size of the letter several times and made a few rearrangements until we were all happy with the result. Then cut the letters we needed out or card to use as templates, and went to work. We met once a week to continue the work and finished towards the end of February. We certainly had fun doing this, and had a laugh or two over it.

Esta bandera fue hecha por un grupo de socias en Mar del Plata, Argentina para la reunión del Circulo que tendrá lugar en Tilbury, Ontario, Canadá en julio de 2004. Usamos una tela de 2.20 por 1.50 metros una variedad de pinceles y cinco colores básicos de pinturas para tela, negra, blanca, roja, azul y amarilla que, mezcladas nos dió todos los tonos que necesitabamos. La planeabamos en papel, cortando papel de diario para las letras para ver como quedaba, cambiabamos el tamaño varias veces, y el diseño, hasta que nos quedabamos satisfechas, y nos pusimos a trabajar. Nos encontrabamos una vez por semana para continuar y terminamos hacia fines de febrero. Nos divertimos bastante además de reirnos muchas veces.

Charito was born in Bahia Blanca in the Province of Buenos Aires, and later moved to Mar del Plata. She is married to Gustavo, they have three children, Ingacio, Santiago and Victoria and live in a lovely house they had built in a quiet part of the city. Charito is a full time home maker and her hobbies are reading and crafts. She is a recycling expert, and has been a member of the Circle since its first year.
Her experience in banner making; she had helped make one before!

Charito nació en Bahia Blanca en la Pcia de Buenos Aires, mudándose más tarde a la ciudad de Mar del Plata. Casada con Gustavo, tiene tres hijos, Ignacio, Santiago y Victoria, y viven en una linda casa que hicieron construir en una zona tranquila de la ciudad. Charito es gerente general del hogar tiempo completo y sus intereses son la lectura y manualidades, donde es experta en reciclaje!!Ha sido socia del Circulo desde el primer año.

Daphne was born in Portsmouth England, and emigrated to Argentina on marriage to Leo who was then in the Argentine Navy. They have two children, Ruben and Romina and a grand daughter, Agostina. Though Leo is from the nothern province of Salta, the family have always lived in Mar del Plata, this being the main submarine base of the country. Daphne is a teacher of English as a second language and her hobbies are all kinds of crafts, gardening, reading and using the computer. She has been a member of the Circle from its beginning.
Her experience in this kind of work: well,... she has made a club standard before!

Daphne nació en Portsmouth Inglaterra y emigró a Argentina al casarse con Leo, quien por ese entonces estaba en la Armada Argentina. Tienen dos hijos, Ruben y Romina, y una nieta, Agostina, Aunque Leo es de origin de la norteña provincia de Salta, la familia siempre ha vivido en Mar del Plata, siendo ésta la principal base de submarinos del país. Daphne es maestra de inglés como segundo idioma y sus intereses son todo tipo de manualidades, jardineria, lectura y usar la computadora. Es socia del Circulo desde sus principios.
Su experiencia en este tipo de trabajo: buen.... una vez hizo un estandarte para un club!

Maria Elena was born in Mar del Plata and has always lived in the same house in the port area, with her parants. The youngest of five siblings, she is a university student, specializing in the professorsip of English. She has been a member of this Circle since its first year and has helped to run the Spanish recipe section of the newsletter. Her interests are drawing, playing the organ, reading and going for walks along the coast
Her experience in this kind of work:... she knew something about painting over cloth.

Maria Elena nació en Mar del Plata, y siempre ha vivido en la misma casa en la zona del puerto, con sus padres. La menor de cinco hermanos, es estudiante universitaria especializando en la profesorada de Inglés. Ha sido socia del Circulo desde el primer año, y ayudó a mantener el sector de recetas de la cartilla en español. Sus intereses son el dibujo, lectura, tocando el organo y caminatas por la costa
Su experiencia en este tipo de trabajo; Sabía algo sobre pintura sobre tela.
