In my life I loved them all

I would like to tell you a tale... a tale of a fish that dared to live life by his terms... and no one elses. One brisk Wednesday afternoon, my chums and I were scouting the local Shoppers Mall. Looking for an excuse not to be at school we decided to have some fun. 58 cents later we had ourselves a pet fish. We decided to give him the name of Apollo 14.

Our plan was to release him in the marine wonderland known as the UCT fountain. Sonny cracked open his bag and released the little fellow into the coin filled waters below. We gave him our best wishes and said goodbye.

From there we went to grab a bite, I had the three all-beef patty burger from A&W. We enjoyed our lunch and decided to say goodbye to him one last time before we left for the day. But when when got there he had vanished. Was all hope lost? Some say so... but I don't.

Sure there are many valid reasons to beleive why he had died... unknown water temperatures, water filters, drains, etc. As an owner of goldfish I have monitored there behavior before. This is what leads me to beleive that there is a very good chance that he is stil quite alive and well to this very day. They sit still for long periods of time and they hide amongst things(gold fish and pennies are similar colors). Sonny, Micheal and Clemenza all had to naysay. They write off Apollo like he isn't a fighter, but I refuse to. He wouldn't go down that easy.

From this day on everytime a walk past the fountain in the mall I will check to see if he is there... and even though he may not be there in flesh and blood, he surely will be in spirit.

If he died at least I know he will be greeted at the Pearly gates by my two demised pet fish Beatmaster VII and Beatmaster VIII.
