NISSAN PULSAR EXA
The Nissan Pulsar EXA is a very individual, and often criticized two-door variant of the turbo Pulsar. Sold in Australia between 1983 and 1985, the EXA was Japanese built and imported through Nissan Australia. The EXA's short model life here could be accredited to its low volume of sales, a side affect of its often-criticized styling - or lack of same. I personally love the EXA look, however many don't; matter of personal opinion, really.
NISSAN PULSAR ET
The Nissan Pulsar ET is a car adapted by Nissan Australia from the base-level N12 Pulsar hatch, which was powered by a 1500 CC single-carburetor naturally aspirated version of the E15 engine. The conversion of the base level (GL) Pulsar to the ET-spec version was rather well accomplished, in spite of its humble beginnings. The ET spec was given heavy-duty suspension components, vastly improving handling. The ET also received rear disc brakes, a bolt-on front air dam and rear spoiler (with a full skirt kit optional), marginally wider alloys...and a number of other little goodies, including the E15ET dash and a 'sporty' interior.
OTHER VARIANTS
There have been a number of other E15ET-powered Pulsars, however these have never been officially sold here in Australia. In New Zealand imported versions of turbo Pulsars include the Langley turbo and Pulsar Milano X1 - the latter of which represented a bit of a crossover between the ET and the EXA sold here. The Milano was endowed with big EXA-like bumpers and two doors, yet retained a hatchback body shell.
