I wonder where you are
And how you've been
I promised that I wouldn't
Yet I think of you again.
Walking down the street
I see so many strangers
All wear your face
None know of the dangers.
I see you in the Bronze
And at the mall
None of them I know
But your face is on them all.
A thousand years from now
Who knows where you'll be
Maybe you'll have lost
All memory of me.
If I looked into the future
What would I see?
Would I see your face
Staring back at me?
Maybe we'd be together
Love growing strong
Or maybe all we'd shared
Would be all but gone.
I guess I'll never know
The future's not to tell
But this fear of what's unknown
Is in itself a hell.
I see in you
All that you see in me
Will our love transcend
Beyond eternity?
And maybe you were just
Someone passing through
But why then does my heart
Seem to always rest on you?
Sometimes I think I feel you
Right there next to me
And in my heart I know
Our love exists eternally.
