Watching the Ultra Sound: Revenge of the boybands totally pissed me off! Cuz They were saying that they were just manufactured boys that didn't know how to sing or make good music but just good looking guys that are like puppets, made to sing and dance whenver. Maybe they once were in the beginning but they are sooo not now.
People may say things like, they can't even play their own instruments! They are a buncha sissies and can't make good music. Offspring rules and Backstreet sucks! Well as a matter of fact, they can play instruments, Kevin rules at piano, Brian can play the guitar, Nick can play the drums really good and is learning how to play the guitar and AJ can play the piano and the bass guitar and so can Howie. They aren't a buncha sissies just cuz of the way they look or present themselves and they or Kevin at least, can probably kick a bunch of your asses! (You people that are talking shit) And fine, Offspring can play their guitars and yell their asses off (no offense Offspring peeps cuz I like them most of the time too) and maybe Backstreet CAN'T play guitars like them. But can Offspring serenade you at a romantic dinner? Can they bust out with music and lyrics like Brian and compose a song like the Perfect Fan? Can they hit that high note? Thank you very much.
And if Backstreet Boys do suck, how come their album won album of the year at the Billboard Awards and how come they got Artist of the Year? How come their albums Millennium and their self-titled CD sold over millions of copies and they beat people such as Garth Brooks? How come they have aquired a throng of adoring fans, not just 10 yr old girls but 18 yr olds, 20 yr olds, 30 yrs old and even older? How come even BOYS like them, even if they hate to admit it? How come girls are throwing themselves at them?? Yeah answer those questions. If they are just a "boy band" how can they achieve so many goals, keep their fans, have more hits then some will ever have, and come out with videos that still top others?
Whether we hate to admit it or not, they aren't even "boys" anymore, although that's how I will alwyas refer to them as :o) Take the video Larger Than Life. Let's see the people that make fun of them learn those moves, sing those notes, and take the time to praise their fans? (like they should :o) Ohh yeah the black and leather outfits sure scream wuss. And have you CHECKED them out lately? Howie's got the arms and abs, AJ got a lot going to, Nick got some arms now, Brian does too and Kevin is the whole entire package!
By now you'd think that they'd be tired of all the critiqing and what not but they are still as polite as ever, they don't diss others, thank thier opponants at Billboard Awards, and just push harder to make peole see that they CAN sing and CAN make music.
So what do I think? I truley think they are gonna prove those people wrong and win over millions and millions of fans. Sure there will always be some that won't appreciate them but at least they aren't referred to as some dumb kids' group or something like that. I don't get how some people can say so much about them, so much bad stuff!
