This is a new band thatz called "MidnighT" there's 3 boys from Colorado and their friend made an unofficial site right here I got everything for this MidnighT band info from Scott Porter, he's friendz with the band. Go visit his site.. and the Official MidnighT site too!
I'D LIKE TO GIVE BIG THANKS TO SCOTT PORTER FOR DOING THIS FOR ME. =) I got my friendz to ask questions about MidnighT and I asked Scott.
How did you get your band name MidnighT?
-Jeremy: Well, honestly? I don't recall. It has been so long. We just were sitting around thinking of bands names, and MidnighT just kinda came up. At this point the band consisted of me and one other kid (not in the band now). When I met up with Sean and Justin, we just decided to keep the name.
How did you get started?
-Jeremy: Initally, the band was formed '95 by me and a friend. We did sorta "hippie-rock". That band soon broke up, and I met Sean and Justin. Sean and I had a music class together and we noticed how we had similar musical visions. Justin soon came along sharing that same vision...the rest is history you could say.
Who do you admire as idols?
-Sean: Well, I admire anyone that can write their own music, and be creative. I may not like the music, but I respesct it. As far as idols/musicans go, I'd have to say my three favortie guitarists would be Jimmy Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Eddie Van Halen.
-Jeremy: For me, I really admire (in terms of drummers) anyone who does something new. Terry Bozzio for example takes druming to a level not achieved by anyone else. I am also really into drummers like Virgil Donati, and Gene Hoglan (double bass king).
-Justin: I'd have to agree with Sean and Jeremy on the creative/innovation aspect. Nuff' said! Oh, I also really like Chad Sexton from 311
What's your favorite color of jello?
-Justin: umm how about red.
-Sean: blue.
-Jeremy: yeah blue is by far the phattest color of jello. (laughs)
What's your favorite quote that you can relate to?
-(Band at a loss)
Got anything to say to the fans?
-Justin: We'd just like to thank everyone who has been behind us so far. They've helped a lot and have been great.
-Jeremy: Yeah the fans so far are awesome!
How did you meet?
-Sean: Well Jeremy and I met in my first year in High School. We had a music class together and we got to know each other, and hang out, when we discovered our common musical intrests.
-Justin: Well Sean and I met when we were just going into high school. We both had siblings in the marching band so we felt we should give that a shot. So we soon met up with each other in the drum line.
How long have you been a band?
-Jeremy: Well, with the version of MidnighT you see now, I guess we've been a band, for ohh...a year and a quarter or so. Give or take a bit.
How long have you been singing?
-Justin: I've been singing for as long as I can remember. I've taken school choir classes forever, and been in quite a few different bands (as a singer)
-Jeremy: Well, I've been singing for fun for a long time, but I never really was serious about it, or sang in a band until MidnighT. I did take occasional choir classes through out my school career.
What are your intrests?
-Sean: Well, I really had no real intrests until I was in the seventh grade, at which time I picked up my first guitar.. Ever since then play has been my #1 interest.
-Jeremy: Music, music, music, drums, drums, music.
-Justin: music of course, and singing!
What do you consider your band to be ? (heavy metal, pop, etc)
-Justin: We definitely fall into the pop/rock catagory. It's real upbeat stuff. The kind of stuff that has a good beat, and is catchy.
What made you form a band?
-Sean: Sharing a common intrest with a group of friends and being able to express myself through music inspired me.
-Jeremy: To me, music is everything. It's what my life is about. I mean, because of my literal obsession with music, it only seemed logical to get in a band.
-Justin: I love to perform and have fun. I've been involved with music my whole life, and like Jeremy said, it was only logical to join a band.
Are there any fun rivalries between you guys a lot?
-Jeremy: Well....(laughs) I mean, of course there are some rivalries within the band, but not really too many. I mean, we spend a lot of time together, but we are all good about giving each other space. I mean, if we did EVERYTHING together, there would be some serious rivalries.
How long you have been playing your instruments?
-Sean: Well like I already said I've played since 7th grade. I had just turned 13 at the time, and I started to play the guitar
-Jeremy: I've played for about 6 years. I played in the school band in elementary school, and in middle school, and picked up set drumming in middle school too.
-Justin: I've played piano for about 7 years. I took lessons fairly early on, and fell in love with the instrument instantly.
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
-Sean: Yes I had two brothers. One older Paul, and one younger Mark.
-Jeremy: Yeah, one older brother, Trevor.
-Justin: Yep, one older sister Erica.
How do you feel about the success of your career so far?
-Sean: Well I am very appreciative of all the fans. I never thought anything would come out of this but it is great.
-Jeremy: Yeah, we're loving it. This band started as a fun little garage band, and has really snowballed into something great. We're having a blast!
-Justin: It was a surprise that this has gone so far, we're really thankful that it's worked out so well.
Do you write your songs individually or together?
-Sean: Well what we do is, I write a guitar part by myself and then show it to the guys. If they like it we expand on it.. Write all the music then write vocals.
-Justin: Yeah it usually starts with guitar, then the drums, then keyboards, and then vocals.
-Jeremy: Well, Sean does a lot of the music and I do a lot of the lyrics. The band is pretty balanced though.
When you're not performing what do you do with your time?
-Sean: Well, nothing.... Listen to other music? (laughs)
-Jeremy: hehe, yeah I listen to music, I play in a few other bands so I work on that. I'm also into movies...and chillin' with the friends and stuff.
-Justin: I have a job, and I do different musical things. I was in a few other bands, but with MidnighT beginning to take off, I've kind of set those on the back burner.
Are any of you dating?
-Sean: No.
-Jeremy: Naw, not at the moment.
-Justin: Nopers.
Would you date a fan?
-Jeremy: SURE!
-Sean: Yeah I mean, okay, sure.
-Justin: Probably, depending on the person of course.
Has there been heartbreak?
-Jeremy:...hmm, kinda, but umm, you wanna take this one J? (avoids subject)
-Justin: Naw, no serious heatbreak for me.
Do you remember your first kiss?
-Sean: ha ha Yes. it was very special
-Justin: Well, yeah, I mean you kind of don't forget that.
-Jeremy: Of course.
When you're touring do you miss your hometown?
-Sean: Not so much the town as much as the people in it.
-Jeremy: Yeah...we have yet to go really far away from our hometwon, so it's not too bad. No serious culture shock.
-Justin: I love being away from our hometown!
Did you ever get any bad school reports?
-Sean: No I get A's & B's.
-Jeremy: Nope! straight A's....shooting for that valedictorian title.
-Justin: I get petty decent grades, A's and B's mostly.
If you had a tv which allowed you to spy on anyone who would you spy on?
-Sean: I wouldn't want to spy on any one, I would like to respect peoples privacy.
-Jeremy: ...yeah, that would be a serious privacy violation.
Have you ever skipped school?
-Sean: occasionally
-Jeremy: no comment.
-Justin: hey...we're kids...we are not perfect.
What's the craziest thing a fan has ever done?
-Sean: well, they have done some crazy things
-Justin: nothing too insane though. -Jeremy: Yeah, no one camps outside on our lawns like
some Hanson fans have done.
What's the craziest thing you have ever done?
-Jeremy: I have no clue!
Does anyone treat you differently then before you became a band?
-Sean: Not really. I mean, most of my friends I have been friends with for a long time, so they've been cool about it.
-Justin: Yeah, same as Sean, my friends have been around for a while and know the real me.
-Jeremy: I mean, some people do a little bit, but it's not too bad.
Do you still attend the same school as you did before becoming a band?
-All: yeah still at ol' Arvada West HS.
-Thanks!
