The Girl

Story Info: This is a story about Hanson on holidays in Canada in my hometown.

We arrived finally at the little town of Calling Lake where we thought we wouldn't be noticed by any fans because the town was so small. We decided to camp at Provincial Park, some little campground in this little town. The day was hot and sunny. I wanted to go explore the campsite. I told my mom where I was going but she said, "Zac, you can go later we're going to go find a beach. Come on let's go."

We finally found it, a small beach and no one was around. I got out right away and walked along a trail leading which was supposed to be South I thought.

Dad said, "Hey Zac be careful, you don't know where you're heading." I just wanted to look things over at this small town but since it was small there was not much to see. I kept walking along the trail. The place wasn't very pretty. The trail split in two but I headed straight. I got to a little place where the beach was again but it was to my right, on the left the trail kept on going. I turned to my right. When I got to the sand I took off my shoes. Then I noticed the girl, at first I saw she was watching me. She had a smile on her lips, smiling at me. Then when I caught her looking she turned away as fast as a blink of the eye.

I walked towards her but I couldn't talk I don't know why but I felt kind of shy. Like she'd laugh at me. I walked up to her and finally managed to say, "Can I sit here?"

The girl said, "Hello. Yeah sure there's lots of room." She smiled.

I sat down and she was looking at me again studying my face. Like she was trying to memorize it. I turned to her but she turned away. Then it was my turn to look at her face. She didn't wear much make-up but she had her hair in a ponytail like Tay, Ike and I always wear our hair. She dug in her pocket and pulled out a chapstick I could smell it. It smelled like Strawberries. I looked at her lips they shined in the sun then she caught me looking at her but I didn't turn away. I thought she didn't talk much, sort of like me right now, kind of shy I guess. Her eyes were sparkling. She had nice tanned skin and brown eyes. Her hair was a shiny light brown. She blushed and turned away after looking at me for about a minute. She tried to edge closer to me un-noticed but I knew she was getting closer. I turned back to her again and she looked at me and smiled, she was about 5 inches away from me. I leaned closer to her but then I heard someone call my name from the trail where my family were swimming.

It was Tay, "Zac?... Zac where are you?"

I said to Tay, "Um, I just found some berries," I was still looking at her and she was looking at me, "I'll pick a few and I'll be right there."

Tay said, "Okay I'll tell mom and dad." I knew Tay had blown my chance at kissing her, my first kiss but I knew that wasn't going to stop me. I knew she wanted to kiss me too.

Then the girl said, "Want to go for a swim?"

I said to her, "Maybe later." I reached for her face and gently pulled her to me and we pressed our lips together. Her lips tasted like Strawberries or Cherries. She wrapped her arms around my neck and un-did my ponytail and she ran her hands through my hair.

She pulled away after a while then she said, "Whoa, that was good. I didn't know a first kiss was this great." She blushed. I thought to myself that she sure does blush alot. I was in mid-thought thinking about my family just down the trail in the nice cool water of the lake thinking that I was picking berries when she leaned forward fast and kissed me again. I didn't push away I kissed her back and held her close to my body. Around her neck smelled like CK1 and her chest smelled like Apples a sweet smelling apples.

I asked her, "What kind of perfume are you wearing here," I pointed to her chest.

She said, "It's called Harvest Apple."

I said, "Um, do you know where Provicial Park is?"

She brightened up and smiled, then said, "Oh yeah. I camp there sometimes. But mostly go to visit campers and go for picnics."

I said, "My family and I are camped there and I was thinking maybe you could visit us there? Why don't you come meet them now, they're swimming over there." I pointed.

She said, "That would be awesome. Sure I will, let's go." I got up and reached my hand out to her and we headed down the trail hand in hand. We got to where the water was and I took off my pants only to show my boxers and I swam in my bare chest because it was so hot. The girl had her boxers and t-shirt on already. We ran to the edge of the water as Tay and Ike came at us and splashed us. We were swimming in the deep about up to my neck.

They finally asked me, "Who's this girl?"

I said, "She's my new friend. I'm not sure her name."

Tay said, "How old is she?"

I said, "We didn't talk much" I looked at Ike and her splashing each other a few feet away.

Tay said, "Oh so that was what you were doing." He laughed. I ignored him and headed to where Ike and the girl was.

Mom, dad, Jess, Avie, Mackie and Zoë went for a walk along the beachshore to the right heading which was supposed to be North I guessed again. The girl looked at me and smiled. Then Tay and her splashed each other.

I leaned to Ike's ear and said, "So how do you like her?" I knew he was the expert on girls, he always talked about them.

He said, "She's perfect for you." I thought he would laugh but he didn't and he joined in, in the splash fight. I jumped at the girl on her back and we went under water. We came up laughing together. This was so much fun.

My mom wanted to go back to the camp so we could feed Zoë. I asked if we could bring my friend. They said it was okay and the girl had to go to her house and tell them where she was going.

I said to my mom and dad, "I'll go with her."

The girl said, "To your right and the first driveway is where we'll go, so just meet us there." They smiled and I took the girls' hand and we walked along the trail again. I thought to myself this girl is a real charmer. We followed the trail from where we kissed but this time to our left of the trail a turn. We didn't follow the trail for long since it came to a small barbed wire fence, she went trough first I winced, I thought she might cut herself on the wire but it seems she does this all the time. Then I followed her up a hill then a trail that lead up hill. Her grandpa's house. On the way here she had told me that she didn't live here she only visited her grandpa whenever she was in town. Her granny lived down the road but they weren't ever a couple. She told me her real grandpa was gone now and her gramps was the guy she'd always thought as her grandpa. She was now living with her mom in a little town about half an hour away.

At the park we were alone walking along the trail, she showed me around. She knew where everything was at this campground so we went to a spot where we could not be bothered. It was along the lakeshore behind a fallen tree and there was two rocks where we sat down. I kissed her again but this time we kissed longer.

Leah said, "Why did you guys come to Calling Lake, of all places?"

I said, "We came because my parents thought this would be a nice quiet town. I'm not sure how we found out about it though. We sort of did a eeny meeny miny mo type of thing on a map." He looked up at the sky, "I think we better get back to camp now, it's getting dark."

We got up and headed back to the camp. We all sat around the camp fire talking and roasting marshmellows.
