I thought my heart
would love no more
I was content in my
solitude

Confusing darkness
Joyful light
my heart longs
to understand you

I feel it coming
slowly inside
I want to love you
why must it hide?
I know you see me
for who I am
You alone understand
I need you to feel this
feel me
feel this

These days have
grown so hard
I hold back emotions
trust once betrayed
in the past I was scarred

Slowly I'm growing
I trust you alone
but my heart is in pain
I can't stand to refrain
my feelings for you
unwanting
impatience
in waiting for you

I'm in fear of speaking
afraid you may not
feel or want
what I haven't had in years
I need you
to take my heart in your hand
fill it with your love
for you alone understand.
