Chocolate Chip Blonde Brownies

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup margarine
  • 2 cups light brown sugar - packed
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 12 oz.semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation -
In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt. Set aside. In a separate bowl, combine the softened margarine and brown sugar and beat well. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat for about 2 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer. Add the flour mixture, a small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition. Spread the mixture in a greased 9" x 13" cake pan. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350º for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely in the pan, then cut into squares. Store in an airtight container.
