Barbecued Beef on Buns


  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 1 lb. flank or top round steak - slice thin while partly frozen
  • 1 large bell pepper - cut into chunks
  • 1 large sweet onion - sliced into thin rings
  • 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
  • 1 large tomato - cut into chunks
  • 4 kaiser rolls


Preparation -
In a large heavy skillet, heat olive oil. Add thinly sliced beef and stir fry on medium high heat, until lightly browned, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside. Reduce heat to medium. Add bell pepper chunks and onion slices to pan drippings. Stir fry about 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in barbecue sauce, tomato chunks and the sliced cooked beef. Cook mixture just until all ingredients are heated through. Serve on lightly toasted kaiser rolls.
