Baked Lima Beans
- 1 pound dried lima beans
- 4 slices lean bacon - cut into 1"
pieces
- 3/4 cup Turkey® Brand or Golden Barrel® syrup
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 T. prepared yellow mustard or honey mustard
- 1 tsp. salt
Preparation -
Soak the beans overnight, then cook
according to package directions. Do not
overcook! The beans should be barely tender. Drain. Spray a large baking dish or casserole with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the drained beans into the prepared dish. Mix all the remaining ingredients together, except the
except bacon. Stir the mixture into the
beans. Lay the bacon pieces over the top of the beans. Cover
and bake in a preheated oven at 350º for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for about 40 more minutes. Stir the bacon pieces into the beans before serving.
