I was born in 1981 in a Northern Russian city, Arkhangel. When I was 5 years old my parents moved to Severodvinsk, the center of production of russian nuclear submarines, which is located on the coast of the White Sea. Severodvinsk is the city where I have grown up, made my first steps at school and etc. When I was 7 years old I started visiting local chess and swimming sports schools. At the chess school besides chess I developed love of soccer and ping-pong. When I was 13 I had to give up on swimming and concetrate on chess and other things which gave me the posibility to spend more time on school and chess. I liked going to chess tournaments because you have to travel a lot and get to see many interesting places. Thus, I have seen the most part of the European Russia. At the age of 16 I obtained the norm of candidate of master at chess and suddenly left for the USA for studying purposes. My new city isn't very big and there are almost no chess players in it. Therefore, I decided to enroll to a big University where I can get a big scholarship. On December 29th, 1998, I became a receipent of a full four-year chess scholarship at University of Texas at Dallas, where I am going to move in August of 1999. That was my short autobiography.
