There are 2 Gyms in this city. In the gym on the left, you'll fight many BLACKBELTS. Since they have fighting Pokémon, your best bet is to use psychic Pokémon like Kadabra and Drowzee. Ghost Pokémon also works well because they are immune to physical moves. After the final boss in the gym, you can get Hitmonlee, the kicker, or Hitmonchan, the puncher. The other gym is blocked by a ROCKET though. You need to go to SILPH Company, the biggest building in Saffron City, and defeat all Rocket Gang members in it.
