Little Known Mozart Opera to Receive its World Premiere at North Yorkshire Pub in September Topic: PREMIERE Titled Bastien und Bastienna, the opera was composed by Mozart at the age of twelve and marks the composer's third foray into the form. Topic: PREMIERE Andre Previn has completed a new work commissioned by the Sacramento Philharmonic, the orchestra announced.
The work, titled Night Thoughts, was commissioned in honor of Sacramento-based artist Wayne Thiebaud. It was originally scheduled to premiere in April 2005, but in February, Previn told the orchestra that the work would not be finished in time.
