Mike Myers'Biography

Mike Myers was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada in 1963. He began doing character comedy at a young age. He was a hit in the comedy scene and eventually caught the eye of Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels. Myers had always dreamed of being on the show since the show started.

In 1987 his dream became a reality, and he became a fan favorite as such characters as Wayne Campbell, Dieter the host of Sprockets, and Coffe Talk host Linda Richman.

In 1992 Myers made his big screen debut in Wayne's World, in which he and Dana Carvey play Wayne and Garth, characters first seen on SNL.

Myers soon left SNL to pursue a film career. So I Married an Axe Murderer and Wayne's World 2 were not as successful, and Myers' career went into a slump.

Shortly after Axe Murderer's release, Myers' father died. His father had suffered from Alzheimer's disease for many years, and hadn't been able to enjoy his son's success. Myers took some time off to grieve, and wasn't in any films for the next three years.

In 1997 Mike made a huge comeback with the hit film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. Next he appeared in the 70s drama 54, about the famed disco bar.

Myers has returned to the Austin Powers role for the sequel, The Spy Who Shagged Me.
