undefined I'm trying to re-do the character pages...so I hope you enjoy the changes....

Home world: Earth
Can they go home: Yes, if he can find it...
Family: Father: John Crichton Senior.
Mother: Mentioned only in one episode, during a halicination... (Rapsody In Blue)
How he joined the crew: Crichton was running an experiment (to use our planets gravity as a speed booster), that went wrong. Crichton opened a worm hole that sent him across the universe, into the Uncharted Territories, popping up in middle of a space battle between an escaping Prisoner ship and the Peace Keepers...Those on Moya (D'Argo, Zhaan, and Rygel) brought him aboard, and he's stayed there ever since.
Who they have to watch out for the most: In Season one, John had to watch out for Crais, a Peace Keeper how held Crichton responsible for his brother's death. However, at the close of season 1/beginning of season 2, it's apparent that Crais is no longer the one John has to worry about -Scorpius is. John has the key to worm hole technology in his mind, and Scorpy wants it (Nerve thru Mind the Baby).
Misc. data:
  • His father, John Crichton, Sr. was also an astronaut. 
  • He has a full doctorate in Theoretical Sciences. 
  • Apparently, he's rather accident prone: In That Old Black Magic there's a mention of him trashing his motorcycle, and in The Flax he tells Aeryn that he had been in a 'head on' when he was 19. 
  • He lost his virginity to Karen Shore in the back of a four-by-four. (That Old Black Magic) Okay, not totally necessary info...
Character evolution: In the beginning of the series, John Crichton was basically treated as an idiot incapable of even opening a door. Now, the other characters listen to him, and sometimes even do as he suggests.

Also, in the beginning of the show, it was rare to see Crichton readily carrying a weapon, now it's common for him too...

There was some sexual tension between him and Aeryn Sun, which has since developed into...major sexual tension with some action taking place (the Flax, Look At the Princess part 1)...
