Sis Jothy’s gratefulness to God comes to light when she says, “ by the infinite mercies of God I came to this land of Kuwait in 1992, but soon after I faced failures and agony in all walks of life, by which my life lacked happiness since I lived a life without God. But God graciously sought this poor soul of mine, which was void of the knowledge of His word and peace and touched me by bringing me to this blessed church. After which God opened my spiritually blinded eyes and reveled the mysteries of His word for the first time in my life. Later I committed my whole life to God and God gave me the grace to be saved and to be baptized both by water and the Holy Spirit and after which my life was never the same as before.
Four years before I planned to bring my family down in Kuwait. Since my husband was an optometrist I enquired about his chances of getting a job here but all I could hear was disheartening answer. But still I though I could bring him here on a visit visa and try it out inspite of the financial problems. There were so many barricades even in acquiring the visit visa and even if I would arrange, the worst part of it was he should get a job within a month. In this troubled state of mine God gave me two wonderful promises which was like cold waters to a weary soul. During those times where even getting a visit visa was an unimaginable one. God promised us with “ You rule the raging of the sea” – Psalms 89:9, but since my faith was wavering God again lifted my spirits by reaffirming through His word as “I did not say to Jacob; seek me in vain” – Isaiah 45:19. I firmly held on to these promises and prayed, even the whole church ceaselessly prayed for the cause and God wonderfully enabled us to get a Visiting Visa and not later than five days after my husband had landed here, the ministry of health unexpectedly conducted the interview. Our Lord showed His greatness and without any hassles he was selected in the very same interview and was asked to join the job. All glory to God on high!
Tears screen her eyes when she humbly says that God has helped them to attain higher grounds both in the spiritual as well as in secular realm. We praise God for planting this family in our church and we bless them in the greatest name on earth, Jesus Christ.
