Deep Sincerity

I kicked some sand with my foot and then the wind came and carried it away

I looked up to see a million pieces of sand that had been carried up the same old way

One looked down upon me and saw my face was glim,

He said "the night seems darker for you, your heart has fallen dim"

I gazed but did not answer, out of fear for what I'd say

my thoughts then answered for me, "I didn't like today."

The sky broke open quickly and the starts began to cry

"Once again" I said, "I didn't mean for this, I didn't even try"

I found a pebble to listen to my tale and I began to open my heart,

I explained how I broke a vase and that was there the trouble starts.

"I was mad at the table it sat on, for surely it wasn't straight,

I was angry at the floor for it's hardness, with contact things would break

I blamed all but me for an unsturdy hand that let go of the beautiful thing,

and now the table and floor are crossed at me and will no longer sing.

The day will soon end but the sea isn't calm, so i rest quite unsure

I care for my treasures, but i fear myself has harden them and they will no longer endure"

The star that had been listening finally spoke and said, "I offer one thing"

I will deliver a message for you, but i promise no love nor sting"

I took the star's offer and blew it a kiss to deliver

He graciously smiled and nodded his head, then was off in a gentle quiver

The star passed it to the moon who sent it across to the sea

He set it in the lap of the tide, because he thought of me

and as the reciever sat quiet by the lake's drift,

the moon said to him "This is for you" and hand delievered my gift.
