On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. Muslim settlers attacked this indigenous Buddhist girl with machete.

Bangladesh army abuse an indigenous Buddhist leader in Panchari

On 22 July l984, Bangladesh army of 30th Bengal Regiment from the Bhaibon Chara Army Camp ordered Mr. Chandra Nath Chakma (50), son of late Chakra Dhon Chakma of Lutiban in Panchari, Khagrachari district to report to the camp in person. Mr. Chandra Nath Chakma is the Chairman of Lutiban Union Council.

Accordingly he went there. He was abused and told that all indigenous people were members of the Shanti Bahini and that they engaged in conspiracy against the Bangladesh Govt. The military ordered him to settle the Muslim settlers in his Union.
