On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Buddhist girl Mithu Marma (13) was seriously injured in the attack.

On 9 September 1984, Bangladesh army of 30th Bengal Regiment from the Almonipara Army Camp in Bhaibon Chara raided the house of Mrs. Subhorani Tripura (22), wife of Mr. Padrita Tripura of Karigarh Para in Panchari, Khagrachari district.

During the raid Bangladesh army robbed goods worth Taka 7000.00 and attempted to rape her. However, she managed to free herself. While running away from the invaders, she was shot in the knee. Her daughter Miss Monimala Tripura (5) was also shot in the heel of her right leg while she was crying beside her wounded mother.
