On 4 December 2007 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape.

Bangladesh police rape and torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On l9 September 1984 at 10 p.m, a group of 60 Armed Police of Bangladesh (APB) men led by Lutfur Rahman (second-in-command of Mohalchari APB camp) attacked Monatek village in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. APB arrested and tortured many indigenous men and raped many indigenous women. The victims are:

1. Miss Kunjo Devi Chakma (16), daughter of Mr. Bipulaksha Chakma. She was raped by several invaders.
2. Miss Laxmi Rani Chakma (18), daughter of Mr. Phool Chan Chakma. She and her mother were raped on the same bed by 6 APB men. They were bleeding profusely.
3. 4 APB men entered the house of Mrs. Mon Mohini Chakma (40), wife of A Mr. Majendra Chakma, kicked her husband out of the house, tied her up, and raped her.
4. The APB men arrested Mr. Ashapurna Chakma (27), son of Mr. Rohini Kanta Chakma, beat and tortured him. He was taken to the APB camp, thrown into a dirty pit without food and water for 3 days. He was tortured during interrogation. Then he was sent to the custody of Bangladesh army of 203rd Brigade at Khagrachari.
5. Mr. Kanon Kumar Chakma (28), son of Mr. Samu Datta Chakma, suffered similar treatment as shown above.
6. Mr. Chikonmoy Chakma (30), son of Mr. Rajendra Chakma. He was tortured, tied and hung upside down, beaten, and hot water poured through his nose and mouth until he became unconscious.
7. Mr. Nila Kanti Chakma (50), son of Mr. Brishasen Chakma. He was subjected to similar torture as shown above.
8. Mr. Sudhir Jiban Chakma (21), son of Mr. Lal Moni Chakma. He was subjected to similar torture as shown above.
9. Mr. Sanjiban Chakma (27), son of Mr. Lal Moni Chakma. He was subjected to similar torture as shown above.
