On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army rob and torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 22 November 1984, Bangladesh army of 305th Brigade from Thalchara Army Camp attacked Dhalya Chari village in Naniachar, Rangamati district. During the attack, Bangladesh army robbed indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Hiran Sen Chakma (48). BD army robbed cash Taka 2400.00, 18 ducks and 13 fowls, and told him that these were being taken for the independence movement of the CHT.
  2. Mr. Binanda Mohan Chakma (43). BD army robbed cash Taka 980.00, 4 fowls and 53 kilograms of rice.
  3. Mr. Lahit Mohan Chakma (39). BD army robbed a pair of bullocks, 3 fowls and severely beat him when he asked for money.
