Bangladesh army sponsored Muslim settlers

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

The Muslim settlers are attacking South Kalindipur area on 22nd September.


Bengal settlers file lawsuit against indigenous people in Dighinala

A Muslim settler named Mohammad Ali built a house on the land of Mr. Dukhya Ram Chakma (32) of Amtoli Adam in Merung, Dighinala without the prior permission of the latter.

On 31 December 1984, the Muslim settler set fire to his own house and then complained to Lt. Hatem of Chongra Chari Army Camp that Mr. Dukhya Ram Chakma set his house on fire. Lt. Hatem called the indigenous village leader Mr. Indrajoy Karbari and ordered him to pay Taka 10,000.00 to Mohammad Ali as compensation.

Mr. Indrajoy Karbari (58), an indigenous village leader of Amtoli Adam in Merung, Dighinala was falsely implicated in the above case (no. 262) by Lt. Hatem and had to pay compensation of Taka 10,000.00 to Mohammad Ali.
