Bangladesh army rape and torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Khagrachari
On 2 January 1985, Bangladesh army of 30th Bengal Regiment, Armed Police of Bangladesh (APB) and Ansars (Islamic Guards) from Khagrachari led by Major Akhtaruzzaman raided indigenous Buddhist villagers of Munigram of Bhaibon Chara Union in Khagranchari, Khagrachari district.
During the raid Bangladeshi army and armed forces raped indigenous Buddhist women and tortured indigenous Buddhist men. Bangladesh army, APB and Ansar paraded indigenous Buddhist women naked and took about 100 indigenous men to camp for torture and interrogation.
