On 19-20 February 2010 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. Many indigenous houses were burnt down including Buddhist temples. Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Longadu
On 12 January 1985, Bangladesh army from Bhaibon Chara camp in Longadu attacked indigenous Chakma Buddhists of Rangapani Chara in Longadu, Rangamati district. During the raid, Bangladesh army tortured and robbed indigenous Chakma Buddhists. The victims are:
Mr. Hangsha Muni Chakma (30). Bangladesh army raided his home at 6 a.m. and then beat and robbed him. He was forced to carry the booty to the army camp. Again on 18 January 1985, Bangladesh army raided his home, interrogated him, tortured him, took him to the camp and threw him in to a dirty pit.
Mr. Adujya Chakma (32), son of Mr. Mohan Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m. and then beat him with rifle stock and interrogated him.
Mr. Krishna Chakma (35), son of Mr. Amar Singh Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m. and then beat him with rifle stock and interrogated him.
Mr. Asya Mitra Chakma (25), son of Mr. Kisto Ram Chakma. Bangladesh army tied him up on a tree, took his clothes off, beat him with a heavy stick and thrusted burning cigarettes on his body.
