On 4 December 2007 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape.
Bangladesh army rape and terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Longadu
On l5 January 1985, Bangladesh army from Bhaibon Chara camp of Longudu launched a military operation against Bhuiya Chara in Longadu, Rangamati district. During the operation, Bangladesh army raped and tortured many indigenous Chakma Buddhists. The victims are:
Mr. Sashi Ranjan Chakma (35), son of Mr. Robindra Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m, arrested him and took him to the camp. BD army tortured and detained him in the camp.
Mr. Prabhat Chandra Chakma (26), son of Mr. Bilash Chandra Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m, arrested him, took him to the camp and tortured him.
Mr. Lalit Chandra Chakma (65), son of Mr. Chikon Chan Chakma. Bangladesh army blindfolded him, interrogated him, beat him, and ordered him to report to the army camp every day.
Mr. Pulin Bihari Chakma (22), son of Mr. Lalit Chandra Chakma. Bangladesh army beat him in front of his father, and kicked him right and left on the chest.
Mr. Binay Bihari Chakma (26), son of Mr. Sadhan Chandra Chakma. Bangladesh army arrested him and gang raped his wife in front of him.
Mr. Alendra Chakma (25), son of Mr. Lalit Chandra Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m. 2 army men entered his bed room, ordered him to cover himself with a bed cover, raped his wife in the same bed beside him and hit him with a gun stock before leaving the house.
Mr. Mukul Kanti Chakma (25), son of Mr. Hema Chandra Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 4 a.m. 4 army men entered the house and raped his wife who was ill for over a month. Despite her request to spare her, the invaders kept on assaulting her until she became unconscious.
Mr. Surat Bihari Chakma (23), son of Mr. Hema Chandra Chakma. He heard his sister-in-law (Mr. Mukul Kanti Chakma's wife) crying for help and tried to rescue her. But the army men knocked him down with blows until he lost his consciousness.
Mr. Priti Bindu Chakma (24), son of Mr. Nani Bikash Chakma. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m. BD army entered his bed room, and asked his wife to hand over her gold ornaments. As she failed to comply with their demands, both of them were kicked left and right. As a result of which his wife who was pregnant for 7 months had a miscarriage.
Mr. Subimal Chakma (35), son of Mr. Bhadra Sen Chakma, a school teacher. Bangladesh army raided his home at 5 a.m. BD army entered his house, and tried to rape his wife. She ran out of the house with her baby but an armyman bayoneted her in the chest killing her instanly.
Mr. Shanti Jiban Chakma (23). Bangladesh army captured him in the cow shed while he was taking his bullocks out to plough his land. BD army forced him to carry ammunition boxes.
Mr. Robindra Chakma (58), son of Mr. Man Kumar Chakma. Bangladesh army interrogated him about the whereabouts of his sons and caned him.
Mr. Dhira Datta Chakma (49), son of Mr. Braja Mohan Chakma. Bangladesh army ransacked his house and beat everyone in the house.
Mr. Kali Prasanna Chakma (25), son of Mr. Dhira Datta Chakma. Bangladesh army suspected him as a member of the
Shanti Bahini and severely beat him.
Mr. Jayanta Chakma (22), son of Mr. Dhira Datta Chakma. Bangladesh army interrogated him, and gave him blows which caused his nose bleeding.
Mr. Subanta Chakma (l8), son of Mr. Dhira Datta Chakma. Bangladesh army asked him whether he came across with the members of the Shanti Bahini and kicked him and gave him blows until he became senseless when he said 'No'.
Mr. Angada Chakma (22), son of Mr. Babonya Chakma. Bangladesh army asked him whether he was married or he had a young sister. Suddenly another armyman kicked him from behind and he fell straight on the ground injuring his face and nose. The armymen laughed at him with joy.
Mr. Krishna Manik Chakma (l9), son of Mr. Nitya Chakma. Bangladesh army hit him in the ear with a gun stock. As a result his ear was bleeding.
Mr. Maina Ranjan Chakma (22), son of Mr. Probin Chandra Chakma. Bangladesh army asked his name and whether he was a member of the Shanti Bahini and then beat him.
