On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Buddhist girl Mithu Marma (13) was seriously injured in the attack.
Bangladesh army molest indigenous Buddhist women in Mohalchari
On 25 January 1985, Bangladesh army from Ultachari camp raided Dhela Adama in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. During the raid Bangladesh army molested 2 indigenous Buddhist girls. The victims are:
Miss Kuzuruk Bala Chakma (18), daughter of Mr. Surendra Chakma of Dhela Adam in Mohalchari. Bangladesh army took her to the house of the village Karbari (village chief), stripped her on the pretext of body search and molested her.
Miss Champa Chakma (17), daughter of Mr. Shanti Kumar Chakma of Korolya Chari in Mohalchari. She was visiting her relatives in Dhela Adam. Bangladesh army took her to the house of the village Karbari (village chief), stripped her on the pretext of body search and molested her.
