On 17 February 2011; Border Guards of Bangladesh and Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Longadu leaving at least 2 indigenous people seriously injured. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. A Chakma couple pick up the pieces after the house was burnt down by the settlers.

0n 27 February 1985, Bangladesh army of 30th Bengal from Panchari Camp led by Major Akhtar rounded up Lakshmi Kumar Chakma (34), son of Chowdhury Vadya Chakma from Ananda Mohan Karbari Para in Panchari, Khagrachari district.
Bangladesh army arrested, tortured and took Lakshmi Kumar Chakma to Khagrachari Brigade Head Quarter where he was further tortured by Bangladesh army.
