Bangladesh army rape indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 25 March 1985, Bangladesh army of 305 Brigade from Thal Chara Camp launched a military operation at Mora Chengi in Naniachar, Rangamati district. The operation was in reprisal to the armed clash between the Shanti Bahini and the Bangladesh army occured on 8 March 1985. During the operation Bangladesh army indiscriminately beat and rape indigenous Chakma Buddhists. The victims are:

1. Chigan Chiji Chakma, daughter of Sura Nath Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. Bangladesh army beat and raped her when all the persons fled the village in fear of army torture.
2. Kusum Bala Chakma, wife of Chigon Biji Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. Bangladesh army beat and raped her when all the persons fled the village in fear of army torture.
3. Lakshana Chakma wife of Sneha Kumar Chakma, Mora Chengi, Naniachar. Bangladesh army beat and raped her when all the persons fled the village in fear of army torture.
4. Wife of Kala Chan Chakma of Mora Chengi, Namiachar. Bangladesh army beat and raped her when all the persons fled the village in fear of army torture.
5. Nurati Ranjan Chakma, son of Kali Charan Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. He was inhumanly beaten and tortured with electric shock. Bangladesh army poured water through his nose and mouth until he fell unconscious.
6. Tukko Pudi Chakma, wife of Naramya Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. He was a victim of inhuman torture and beating.
7. Nihar Devi Chakma (18), daughter of Ajotya Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. Bangladesh army tortured and raped her in front of her father.
8. Sonali Chakma (17), daughter of Kiran Chandra Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. Bangladesh army tortured and raped her in front of her father.
9. Milabua Chakma, daughter of Madan Mohan Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar. Bangladesh army tortured and raped her in front of her father.
