On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at Baghaichari leaving an indigenous man dead. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous Buddhist man gunned down by the Bangladesh army.
Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Khagrachari
On 31 May 1985, Bangladesh Army of 30th Bengal Regiment from Khagrachari led by Major Akhtar carried out a military operation at Sajek Para Jhoutha Khamar(collective farm) in Khagrachari. During the operation Bangladesh army terrorized the indigenous inhabitants. The victims are:
Lamba Khula Chakma (32), son of Ugra Moni Chakma of Sajek Para, Khagrachari. He was falsely accused of helping the Shanti Bahini. Bangladesh army set his house on fire.
Sunil Chakma (31), son of Dhana Muni Chakma of Sajek Para, Khagrachari. He had similar treatment for the same reason as shown in above no.
Nirod Bala Chakma (28), wife of Rahul Chakma of Joutha Khamar (collective farm), Khagrachari. Bangladesh army severely beat and raped her till she became senseless.
Pranopati Chakma (33), wife of Satya Bikash Chakma of Joutha Khamar, Khagrachari. Bangladesh army severely beat and raped her till she became senseless.
Satya Bikash Chakma (50), Kala Chan Chakma of Joutha Khamar, Khagrachari. Bangladesh army severely beat and tortured him on false accusation of helping the Shanti Bahini.
