On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people
counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous
properties were destroyed.
The Muslim settlers are attacking South Kalindipur area on 22nd September.
Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Tripura Hindus in Baghaichari
On 5 December 1985, Bangladesh Army of 41st Bengal Regiment carried out a military operation against the indigenous Hindu people of Sila Chari of Machalong in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army unleashed terror against the indigenous Hindu people by beating, torturing, extorting money, robbing fowls and plundering valuables. Bangladesh army burnt down 9 houses. The victims are:
Biswa Moni Karbari (45), of Sila Chari, Machalong, Baghaichari. He was inhumanly beaten. He was forced to give 9 fowls, 60 kilos of rice and Tk. 1400.00 (fourteen hundred taka).
Bimal Tripura (22), son of Biswa Moni Tripura of Sila Chari, Machalong, Baghaichari.
Buri Bhusan Tripura (21), son of Motaram Tripura, of Sila Chari, Machalong, Baghaichari.
Gong Rai Tripura (23), son of Basa Kumar Tripura of Sila Chari, Machalong, Baghaichari.
Motaram Tripura of Sila Chari, Machalong, Baghaichari. He was forced to give Tk. 4,500.00 (four thousand and five hundred taka) to the army personnel.
