On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Rita Chakma (13) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. Bangladesh army stripped all the women and the girls who were in their houses, and gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bangladesh army rape and torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 6 January 1986, Bangladesh army of 305 Brigade from Bogachari army camp raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Bajeychara in Naniachar, Rangamati district. During the raid, Bangladesh army beat and raped indigenous Buddhist men and women. The victims are:

  1. Roshik Kumar Chakma (35), son of Indra Mohan Chakma of Bajeychara, Naniachar.
  2. Kandara Chakma (27), son of Kinaram Chakma of Bajeychara, Naniachar.
  3. Tipu Ranjan Chakma (20), son of Sama Ranjan Chakma of Bajeychara, Naniachar.
  4. Ban Chandra Chakma (60) of Bajeychara, Naniachar.
  5. Mrs. Ban Chandra Chakma (54), wife of Ban Chandra Chakma of Bajeychara, Naniachar.
  6. Indra Shova Chakma (22), daughter of Banchandra Chakma of Bajeychara, Naniachar. Bangladesh army men barbarously raped her.
  7. Nihar Bala Chakma (30), wife of Dhirendra Chakma of Bajeychara, Naniachar. Bangladesh army men brutally raped her.
