On 25 December 1986 at 6:00 a.m Bangladeshi army personnel from the Dighinala cantonment rounded up Mr. Baribindu Chakma (38) son of Mr. Jatindra Lal Chakma of Sadhok Chara, Dighinala. Bangladesh army tied his hands and then severely beat him. Bangladesh army men laid him on the ground and kicked him like a football. They hammered his fingers. He was released after 8 and 1/2 hours of torture. He took refuge in Tripura state of India.
Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Khagrachari
On 14 January 1986, Bangladesh army personnels from Betchari camp rounded up the indigenous Buddhist village Madhya Betchari in Khagrachari. Bangladesh army physically tortured the following indigenous persons:
Sunil Kanti Chakma (40), son of Padma Kumar Chakma of Madhya Betchari, Khagrachari.
Jyotish Kanti Chakma (19), son of Padma Kumar Chakma of Madhya Betchari, Khagrachari.
Subha Kanti Chakma (28) of Madhya Betchari, Khagrachari.
