On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers killed at least 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. One of them was Shantibala Chakma, the wife of Mr. Saral Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the ferry. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.
Bangladesh army rape and terrorize indigenous Hindu people in Matiranga
On 21 January 1986, Bangladesh army from Kyangghat camp raided the indigenous Hindu village of Roshidhon Karbari Para in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district at 17:00 hrs. Bangladesh army tortured, raped and robbed indigenous Hindu people during the raid. The victims are:
Joly Mohan Tripura (15), son of Uttari Tripura of Roshidhon Karbari Para, Mohalchari. He was caned 20 times and told that if he would join the Shanti Bahini he would be shot dead.
Pabchai Tripura (23), son of Roshidhon Karbari of Roshidhon Karbari Para, Mohalchari. He was hung up side down and beaten severely. The army personnel robbed Taka 1000.00 (one thousand) and 4 fowls from him.
Miss. Jesto Moti Tripura (17), daughter of Nalin Kumar Tripura of Roshidhon Karbari Para, Mohalchari. Se was raped by 6 army personnel.
