In May 1986, Bangladesh army personnel gang raped Mrs. Subodhini Tripura (25) wife of Mr. Tripura of Rambabu Dheba, Matiranga and then attacked her with knife. She took refuge at Tripura state of India with her family. This photo was taken at refugee camp in Tripura, India.

Bangladesh army rape indigenous Buddhist women in Longudu

On January 24, 1986, soldiers of 7th EBR (East Bengal Regiment), Bangladesh army, Churakhali camp, raided the Chakma village of Ghilatoli, P.S. Longudu, committing rape and torture on the innocent inhabitants. Names of the victims and their addresses are given below:

  1. Manoranjan Chakma, 30 yrs, son of Madanya Chakma, of Ghilatoli, P.S. Longudu, was rounded up in his house on a false pretext of searching for illegal arms. He was severely beaten, and he fainted four times when his testicles were squeezed by the soldiers during interrogation.
  2. Anita Bala Chakma, 15 yrs, daughter of Madanya Chakma, of Ghilatoli, P.S. Longudu, was raped in her house consecutively by the soldiers who left her in bleeding condition.
  3. Sonadevi Chakma, 14 yrs, daughter of Bhando Chakma, address as above, was also raped by the soldiers in her house till she became unconscious. She was bleeding profusely when the soldiers left her.
