On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. At Jaliapara, the Muslim settlers stopped every vehicle and looked for indigenous people. Senior government official Jyoti Ranjan Chakma was taken off a bus and severely beaten up.
Bangladesh army torture indigenous Tripura Hindus in Khagrachari
On 15 February 1986, Bangladesh army from Noonchari Army Camp carried out a military operation at Hazachari Para in Khagrachari. During the operation Bangladesh army tortured following indigenous Tripura Hindus.
Haria Tripura (37), son of Bada Rai Tripura of Hazachari Para, Khagrachari. Bangladesh army forced him as porter to carry their robbed goods. Banladesh army severely beat him and then let him go.
Paran Joy Tripura (36), son of Halud Kumar Tripura of Hazachara Para, Khagrachari. Bangladesh army beat him for co-operating with the Jana Samhati Samiti.
Kedu Kumar Tripura (65) of Hazachara Para, Khagrachari. Bangladesh army beat him for cooperating with the Jana Samhati Samiti.
