On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Longadu

On 18 February 1986, Bangladesh army of Tintilla Zone launched military operation against indigenous Chakma villges of Kosolyachari, Deno Longadu and Longadu Mohajan Para in Longadu, Rangamati district. Bangladesh army indiscriminately beat and tortured indigenous inhanitants during the operation. The victims are:

  1. Kripa Mohan Chakma of Kosolyachari, Longadu.
  2. Chandra Shekhar Chakma (33), son of Bhuttyang Khula Chakma of Deno Longadu.
  3. Amrita Lal Chakma, son of Chandra Shekhar Chakma of Deno Longadu.
  4. Ripon Chakma, son of Lautta Chakma of Longadu Mohajan Para.
  5. Chak Trettu Chakma of Longadu Mohajan Para, Longadu.
  6. Sneha Kumar Chakma, son of Nagendra Chakma of Longadu Mohajan Para, Longadu.
  7. Muroti Chakma, son of Sahadar Chakma of Longadu Mohajan Para, Longadu.
  8. Gopalya Chakma, son of Madamya Chakma of Longadu Mohajan Para, Longadu.
  9. Shanti Bilash Chakma, son of Chadi Chakma, of Longadu Mohajan Para, Longadu.
