Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhist in LonguduOn March 11, 1986, Rajani Kanta Chakma, 35 yrs, son of Rajendra Chakma, of Silchari, P.S. Longudu, was ordered to report at the Zonal Head Quarters by Leut. Col. Zillur Rahman, C.O. (Commanding Officer) of 26th EBR Bangladesh army, Barabunnya Zone, for information about the Shanti Bahini. As he could not give them any information about the Shanti Bahini camps and their hide outs, he was immediately taken into the interrogation room and flogged with a whip. After being released, he returned home with his white shirt stained with blood due to whipping. The incident created panic among the innocent inhabitants of the village.
