On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers massacred about 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. One of them was Bablu Chakma the son of Manek Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the vessel. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.
Bangladesh army rape and kill indigenous Buddhist girls in Barkal
On March 17, 1986, the soldiers from the army camp at Fakirachara, of 305 Brigade (Brigade), surrounded the Muralyabap village, P.S. Barkal, which had been converted into a concentration camp by the army.
Bangladesh government has named these concentration camps as 'Ideal villages' to mislead the world opinion and make the inhabitants live a subhuman life who are always molested, harassed and beaten under a pretext or without any reason by the Bangladesh armed forces. Names of the victims are given below:
Gurimila Chakma, 14 yrs, daughter of Harilal Chakma, of Muralyabap Chara, Subalong Concentration Camp area, P.S. Barkal, was gang raped by the army personnel and shot her to death after the barbarous rape.
Milaso Chakma, 15 yrs, daughter of Hengotya Chakma, address as above, was brutally raped and killed by the army personnel.
