Chakma mother and victim of Teknaf
On 30 May 2012 Bangladesh police and Muslim settlers raided indigenous Buddhist villages of Howaikyong area under Teknaf in Cox’s Bazaar. In this attack 12 Chakma villagers were severely wounded. 7 Chakma villagers including 4 minors were arrested without warrant. One pregnant woman prematurely gave birth to a baby due to torture and several women were sexually harassed.

Bangladesh army torture an indigenous man in Mohalchari

On April 8, 1986, Vinod Ranjan Chakma, 40 yrs, son of Dilip Kumar Chakma, of Jogonatuli, P.S. Mohalchari, was ordered to report at the army camp by Major Rehan, 26th EBR, Thalchara camp. When he reported to the army camp at Naniachar, he was arrested by the army as a Shanti Bahini though there is no such evidence against him.

After the arrest, he was immediately sent to the army camp at Barpul Para for interrogation and torture. There after he was sent to the army camp at Thalchara for further interrogation and torture.

After completion of interrogation and torture he was sent to the Zonal Head Quarters at Barabunnya where he is being kept under custody without bail or release.
