Bangladesh army rape and torture indigenous people in Naniachar
On April 14, 1986, Pelakani Chakma, 18 yrs, wife of Pelakana Chakma, of Tongtulya, P.S. Naniachar, was gang raped in her house by the soldiers of 26th EBR from the army camp at Machya Para when her husband was away from the house. She was bleeding profusely when the soldiers left her in senseless condition. She had to be taken to Rangamati for treatment.
Betra Chakma, 25 yrs, son of Aush Chandra Chakma, of Chekko Para, P.S. Naniachar, was arrested by the soldiers of 26th EBR, Barpul Para camp. After interrogation and torture, he was sent to the Zonal Head Quarter at Barabunnya where he is being kept under army custody.
