On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at Baghaichari leaving an indigenous man dead. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous Buddhist man gunned down by the Bangladesh army.

Bengali settlers massacre 6 indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Panchari

On 21 July 1986, six Chakma indigenous people of Jibanaswa Para, P.S. Panchari, were secretly murdered by the Bengali Muslim settlers of Shontilla, P.S. Panchari.

The ill-fated victims were returning home from the market. It was 12:00 hours (BST) when they arrived at Shontilla where they were rounded up and murdered by the Bengali Muslim settlers.

There was also a young Chakma girl with those victims whom the settlers gang raped, and she was about to be killed when one of the settlers wanted to convert her to Islam and marry her by force. The Muslim infiltrator who already has a wife, took the Chakma girl to his house. But the wife of the infiltrator helped this Chakma girl to escape.

When the girl returned home and told the villagers about the incident the matter was reported to the Zonal Army Commander, Panchari. An army investigation team was sent, and the girl identified the culprits, but no action was taken against the murderers.

It is now clear that Bangladesh army is encouraging the illegal Bengali Muslim settlers to indulge in the secret killing of the indigenous people. Names of the victims are given below:

1. Jatindra Chakma, 32 yrs, son of Monchan Chakma, of Jibanaswa Para, P.S. Panchari, was murdered by the Bengali Muslim settlers.
2. Monchan Chakma, 65 yrs, son of Sambhunath Chakma, address as above. Murdered as above.
3. Amar Chakma, 40 yrs, son of Pokka Chakma, address as above. Murdered as above.
4. Manu Kumar Chakma, 38 yrs, son of Raj Kumar Chakma, address as above. Murdered as above.
5. Arun Kumar Chakma, 42 yrs, address as above. Murdered as above.
6. Rajmoni Chakma, 62 yrs, son of Aradhon Karbari, address as above. Murdered as above.
7. Noromi Chakma, 14 yrs, daughter of Chandra Chakma, of Mangaldhon Karbari Para, P.S. Panchari, was gang raped by the Bengali Muslim settlers and escaped from being murdered and conversion to Islam and compulsion to marry a Muslim infiltrator.
