On 20 April 2008 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked and burnt down 76 indigenous Buddhist houses in Sajek. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhist villagers and grab their land. The indigenous Chakma Buddhists and their burnt down houses after the attack.
Bangladesh army rob indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar
On 15 September 1986, Bangladesh army of 42 EBR from Thalchara Camp led by a captain carried out a military operation against the indigenous Chakma Buddhists of Bakchari in Naniachar, Rangamati district.
During the operation Bangladesh army personnel robbed following indigenous people.

Mr. Pradon Chandra Chakma (40), son of Mr. Rangashesh Chakma of Bakchari, Naniachar. He was compelled to give 7 coconuts to the soldiers free of cost.
