On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Baghaichari. The settlers destroyed many indigenous houses and Buddhist temples. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. Bangladesh police fight indigenous people whose land was grabbed by Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in CHT

On 7 October 1986, Bangladesh army arrested Mr. Beauty Ranjan Chakma (24), son of Mr. Sonaram Chakma of Mora Chengi, Naniachar at Rangamati. He is being kept under army custody since his arrest.

On 7 0ct. 1986, Bangladesh army of 41 EBR from the Sijok Duor Army Camp subjected 2 indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Baghaichari, Rangamati district to severe beating. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Lolit Kumar Chakma (30), son of Mr. Polli Charan Chakma, of Baghaichari
  2. Mr. Mano Ranjan Chakma (50), son of late Chigonya Chakma, address as above.

On 7 Oct. 1986, Major Bari of 41 EBR Bangladesh army from the army camp at Karengatuli beat a minor indigenous boy inhumanly. The victim is:

  1. Master Kiron Dhon Chakma (11), son of Mr. Italy Chandra Chakma of Kozuchara, Baghaichari.
