On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Buddhist girl Mithu Marma (13) was seriously injured in the attack.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Baghaichari

On 8 0ct. 1986, Bangladesh army of 41 EBR from the army camp at Marishya led by Lt. Col. Jalal Abed carried out military operation against indigenous Buddhist village Jivtoli in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. During the operation Bangladesh army severely beat following indigenous Buddhist people:

1. Mr. Kumar Chakma (18), son of Mr. Krishna Chakma of Jivtoli. He was brought out of his house and was severely beaten.
2. Master Shombhu Lal Chakma (14), son of Mr. Kala Uda Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
3. Mr. Kalo Chakma (13), son of Mr. Sur Sen Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
4. Mr. Kala Dhon Chakma (23), son of Mr. Kuttejya Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
