On 19-20 February 2010; Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous people at Baghaichari leaving an indigenous man dead. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Chakma Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous Buddhist man gunned down by the Bangladesh army.

Bangladesh army execute 2 indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Dighinala

On 28 Oct. 1986, Capt. Tariq of Bangladesh army from the army camp at Chongrachari murdered 2 indigenous Chakma Buddhists and wounded another. The victims are:

1. Mr. Subol Chakma (26), son of Mr. Mohanya Bap of Lamba Chara, Dighinala. Capt. Tariq murdered him by extra-judicial execution.
2. Mr. Mrittunjoy Tripura, address as above. He was returning home from tne market and on the way he was caught and murdered by Capt. Tariq.
3. Mr. Bhubon Mohan Chakma (30), son of Mr. Chiringya Chakma, address as above. Capt. Tariq hacked him with a sword on the head and on the left hand. He was seriously wounded. The victin is now a refugee at Karbook Refugee Camp in Tripura State of India.
