On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. An indigenous woman in front of her burnt house.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 12 Nov. 1986, Bangladesn army of 32 EBR from the army camp at Betchari led by Major Sharif launched a military operation at Dheppua Chari in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. During the operation Bangladesh army severely beat following indigenous Chakma Buddhists:

  1. Mr. Jeetendra Chakma (64), of Dheppua Chari, Mohalchari. He was severely beaten at his home.
  2. Mr. Bindu Ranjan Chakma (25), so of Mr. Jeetendra Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  3. Mr. Dorongya Chakma of Dheppua Chari, Mohalchari. He was beaten as above.
