Settlers argue with Buddhist monk
In August 2007, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers broke into the boundary of Sadhantila Buddhist Temple in Dighinala and began erecting houses inside the temple boundary. Here the settlers argue with resident Buddhist monk.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Naniachar

On 19 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 40 EBR from Naniachar Military Zone led by Major Jalaluddin launched a massive military operation against the indigenous people of Ramhori Para, Saridas Para, Shikol Para, Nanakrum and Taruni Para in Naniachar, Rangamati district. During the operation, Bangladesh army arrested, severely beat and detained many indigenous people. Bangladesh army extorted money at gun point and robbed many indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Lochan Kumar Chakma (45), son of Mr. Indra Chakma of Ramhori Para, Naniachar. He was arrested from his home, severely beaten and taken to the army camp.
  2. Mr. Suresh Kumar Chakma (46), son of Mr. Igori Kant Chakma of Ramhori Para, Naniachar. He was detained and beaten as above.
  3. Mr. Amarendra Lal Chakma (58), son of late Krishna Hori Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  4. Mr. Ananda Bihari Chakma (39), son of Mr. Charu Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  5. Mr. Dushamantu Chakma (28), address as above. He was detained and beaten as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  6. Mr. Prabir Chandra Chakma (50), son of late Ratna Sen Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  7. Mr. Krishna Renjan Chakma (55), son of late Kali Kumar Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  8. Mr. Nala Varna Chakma (52), son of Mr. Navin Chan Chakma of Saridas Para, Naniachar. He was detained and beaten as above.
  9. Mr. Surya Varna Chakma (45), son of Mr. Navin Chan Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  10. Mr. Amaboshya Chakma (50), son of Mr. Indra Kumar Karbari of Taruni Para, Naniachar. He was detained and beaten as above.
  11. Mr. Robi Dhon Chakma (47), son of Mr. Indra Kumar Karbari, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  12. Mr. Gunodhar Chakma (42), son of Mr. Indra Kumar Karbari, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  13. Mr. Purna Chandra Chakma (35), son of Mr. Jugendra Lal Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  14. Mr. Sneha Ratan Chakma (30), son of Mr. Kali Mohan Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.

  16. Mr. Bhokya Chakma (45), son of Mr. Bagya Chakma of Shikol Para, Naniachar. He was detained and beaten as above.
  17. Mr. Dev Sen Dewan (55), son of Mr. Joy Kumar Dewan, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  18. Mr. Dhirendra Chakma (28) of Soiyondor Para, Naniachar. He was detained and beaten as above.
  19. Mr. Bhusan Chakma (45), son of Mr. Pobindra Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  20. Mr. Chapala Kanta Chakma (40), son of Mr. Surendra Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  21. Mr. Monya Chakma (22), son of Mr. Ranga Chan Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  22. Miss. Milachobua Chakma (17), daughter of Mr. Banshi Mohan Chakma, address as above. The army personnel robbed Taka 110.00 (One hundred and ten taka) from her and threatened her with dire consequences.
  23. Mr. Vimal Jyoti Chakma (28), son of Mr. Banshi Mohan Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed his Ricoh wrist watch.
  24. Mr. Ratanendu Chakma (21), son of Mr. Milon Bihari Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed 3 trousers from him.
  25. Mr. Vinod Bihari Chakma (22), son of Mr. Sudhir Chandra Chakma, address as above. The army personnel robbed his clothes.
  26. Mr. Bhegatya Chakma (21), son of Mr. Sankha Sur Chakma, address as above. He was robbed as above.
  27. Mr. Jatin Bihari Chakma, son of Mr. Virendra Lal Chakma, address as above.
  28. Mr. Vimalendu Chakma (29), son of Mr. Priti Bindu Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed his clothes.
  29. Mr. Chandra Bihari Chakma (35), son of Mr. Moha Banshi Chakma of Ramhori Para, Naniachar. The soldiers robbed his tape recorder and threatened him of life.
  30. Miss. Patia Chakma (20), daughter of Mr. Kalachoga Chakma, address as above. The soldiers robbed her gold ornaments.
  31. Mr. Suddho Dhon Chakma (65), son of late Punong Moni Chakma of Nanakrum, Naniachar. He was arrested, severely beaten and taken to the army camp.
  32. Mr. Tutru Singh Chakma (45), son of Mr. Vira Sen Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  33. Mr. Kalaiya Chakma (47), son of Mr. Supat Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  34. Mr. Vira Kumar Chakma (35), son of Mr. Pravin Chandra Chakma, address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  35. Mr. Bor Jogajjya Chakma (28), address as above. He was detained and beaten as above.
  36. Mr. Arun Bikash Chakma (27), son of Mr. Nilo Kanto Chakma of Nanakrum, Naniachar. He was detained and beaten as above.
  37. Mr. Madan Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army extorted Taka 100.00 (one hundred taka) from him and threatened him of life.
  38. Mr. Jyotirmoy Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army extorted money from him as above.
  39. Mr. Ananda Chakma, son of Mr. Purna Chandra Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army extorted Taka 500.00 (five hundred taka) from him.
  40. Mr. Kalachan Chakma (42), son of Mr. Dhirendra Chakma, of Ramhori Para, Naniachar. Bangladesh army arrested, detained and severely beat him.
