Chanchala Chakma victim of Bangladesh Police firing
On 30 June 2013 Bangladesh police opened fire on indigenous Buddhist people in south Khabongpujya area of Khagrachari district. An indigenous Buddhist woman identified as Chanchala Chakma (50) was seriously injured by the rubber bullets.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Baghaichari

On 22 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 41 EBR from the army camp at Karengatoli led by Major Abdul Bari launched a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist people of Baghaichari, Rangamati district. During the operation Bangladesh army severely beaten indigenous people enmasse. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Choga Chakma (19), son of Mr. Gojyabap Chakma of Baghaichari.
  2. Mr. Mhetta Chakma (30), son of Mr. Virendra Karbari of Uluchari, Baghaichari.
  3. Mr. Kala Uda Chakma (18), son of Mr. Fokira Chakma of Sijok, Baghaichari.
  4. Mr. Joy Kumar Chakma (26), son of Mr. Lolit Chandra Chakma of New Lalyaghona, Baghaichari.
  5. Mr. Somesh Dewan (20), son of Mr. Robindra Dewan of Moroghona, Beghaichari.
  6. Mr. Sahon Chandra Chakma (40), son of Mr. Indra Moni Chakma of Ugolchari, Baghaichari.
  7. Mr. Ogni Chakma (19), son of Mr. Sashi Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  8. Mr. Jotin Bikash Chakma (19), son of Mr. Subhash Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  9. Mr. Doyal Kanti Chakma (22), son of Mr. Subhash Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  10. Mr. Ajna Kumar Chakma (19), son of Mr. Virendra Lal Chakma, address as above.
  11. Mr. Jnana Lal Chakma (28), son of Mr. Chitra Mohan Chakma, address as above.
  12. Mr. Mangal Kumar Chakma (38), son of Mr. Milon Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  13. Mr. Laxmi Kumar Chakma (40), son of Mr. Lolit Chandra Chakma, address as above.
  14. Mr. Pritimoy Chakma (32), son of Mr. Virendra Lal Chakma, address as above.
  15. Mr. Arabindu Chakma (35), son of Mr. Kanai Lal Chakma, address as above.
  16. Mr. Sudorshi Chakma (19), son of Mr. Jyotish Sen Chakma, address as above. Bangladesh army arrested him, stripped off his clothes, severely beat him and then took him to army camp.
  17. Mr. Jotindra Chakma (35), son of Mr. Abhimonya Chakma of Ugol Chari, Baghaichari. He was arrested, serverely beaten and taken to the army camp.
  18. Mr. Jatan Kumar Chakma (35), son of Mr. Hori Krishna Chakma, address as above. Beaten as above.
  19. Mr. Rohini Kumar Chakma (18), son of Mr. Sadhon Muni Chakma, address as above. Beaten as above.
  20. Mr. Narendra Lal Chakma (40), son of Mr. Nav Kishore Chakma, address as above. Beaten as above.
  21. Mr. Shyamol Kanti Chakma (16), son of Mr. Navin Sen Chakma, address as above. Beaten as above.
  22. Mr. Rangabua Chakma (19), son of Mr. Kala Lamba Chakma, address as above. He was arrested, stripped of his clothes and was severely beaten. After beating, Bangladesh army took him to tne army camp.
  23. Mr. Mayaram Chakma (67), son of late Sukro Moni Chakma of Tulaban, Baghaichari. He was arrested, severely beaten and taken to the army camp.
